Write and perform your first rock opera

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Night at the Space-Rock Opera: Explore is all about composing a piece of original rock music with a space-themed storyline. Campers will become familiar with rock opera music by participating in listening exercises, active music making, and visual art projects.

This camp will encourage students to collaborate as a group and write a space-rock masterpiece for the ages.

Campers will perform in their DIY rock opera costumes at the end of the week when they perform for friends and family.

Overall this camp aims to encourage the self-expression and artistic freedom of our students, develop group cohesion, and introduce the concept of rhythm and playing music together.

This camp is appropriate for any kids interested, regardless of prior music or space-rock opera experience.
