Ages for which our activities are most appropriate:
Riverstone Bookstore is the newest independent bookstore in Pittsburgh. Many loyal Borders customers have been waiting for a new bookstore to fill the void in the North Hills left by its closing years ago. We are pleased to be stepping in and stepping up to provide readers of all ages a place to find the latest releases, old favorites, or the perfect gift, or to meet other readers in our book clubs and at events.

Opening in the fall of 2017 and located in McCandless Crossing, Riverstone Bookstore features a well-curated selection of literary and popular fiction, nonfiction, and children’s books.  In addition, we offer a variety of gift items, greeting cards, and children’s puzzles, educational games, and literary stuffed animals. Our experienced booksellers are voracious readers who love to match readers to books they will love.  We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service and if we do not have the book you are looking for, we will be happy to order a copy for you.

We know how easy it is to order anything online, particularly books.  As experienced bookstore owners and booksellers, we also know the value of talking with a fellow reader when you are looking for yourself, a friend, a child, someone who can’t shop for themselves and needs some advice, or just some time to browse until you have a question.  Initially, we will be a bricks and mortar store that can quickly and easily get you the book you need if we don’t have it in stock.  If we have enough customer requests, we will consider opening an online store. Come in and say hello – we can’t wait to meet you!

Why shop at Riverstone, your local independent bookstore?

  • To support a store that is making a commitment to nurture a love for books that we can pass on to our children and grandchildren.
  • To support our neighborhood by keeping your shopping dollars local.
  • To ensure that our customers can find both new books by their favorite authors and those books that were important in their lives and are worth reading again or sharing with a friend or family member.
  • To ensure that you will always have a welcoming place to go, where you can experience that sense of discovery that comes with finding a new book, a new author, a new genre, a new passion, an unexpected conversation, or a quiet moment to unplug and reflect.
