The cultures included in the exhibition share a love for Pittsburgh, yet may often find themselves obscured by a lack of representation and integration in the wider public sphere. "Home Language" explores what it is to find and build one’s home in Pittsburgh for all these languages and their speakers.
The exhibition is an attempt to use art as a universal language capable of facilitating communication across cultures and translation as a tool able to express meaning across languages. Through the combined use of artistic expression and translation, "Home Language" hopes to diminish social and linguistic barriers, and to promote cultural inclusion, curiosity, interaction, and exchange.
Entrance is free to the public!
