Ages 16-Adult
Have you ever wanted to illustrate a children's book? This 6-week course will cover many aspects of illustrating for children’s publishing, including the process of making art for picture books from sketch to final art, making book dummies, self-publishing, promotional strategies, and creating portfolio pieces geared toward this market. There will be in-class demos and weekly group critiques. Students are encouraged to bring a laptop and/or any traditional mediums (sketchbooks, paints, pencils, etc) to work on projects in-class. Any digital or traditional methods of working are encouraged and left to students’ discretion. All levels welcome.
