*The event has already taken place on this date: Tue, 04/16/2019
Teens: Spend a day at PGC working with all things hot! At high temperatures, glass can be manipulated in many ways. You’ll learn three different glassmaking techniques: glassblowing at a 2,200°F furnace, flameworking at the torch, and fusing in the kiln. No experience necessary!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

MOLTN is a great introduction to our SIO2 Youth Arts program. SiO2 is a hands-on glass art program for young artists grades 6–12 taught in one of the top glass studios in the U.S. SiO2 students create glass art, learn the scientific principles behind glass and apply the life lessons inherent in studio glass art such as teamwork, discipline, communication, leadership, achievement and respect. Pittsburgh Glass Center offers 10- and 12-week after-school programs in the fall & spring, and a one-week summer boot camp in July.
