Outdoor Survival and Backcountry Skills for Teens

*This is a 4-week in-person afterschool course for teens from 09/24 through 10/15*
You have survived another day of Zoom classes but do you have what it takes to survive in the backcountry? This hands-on class will give you the tools to get you better prepared to go adventuring in the backcountry. From fire starting and map use, to trip planning and shelter building, each of these fast paced, outdoor classes will give you a sampling of all the skills you need to learn to be the next Bear Grylls. This is an all weather camp - there is no such thing as bad weather - just bad clothing.
Schedule of activities:
Thurs 9/24 - Setting up camp
Thurs 10/1 - Navigation
Thurs 10/8 - Knots, fires, Leave No Trace
Thurs 10/15 - First aid, shelters, shelters
