Virtual Summer Camp: The Art of Bookmaking

The Art of Bookmaking will introduce students to basic concepts and techniques for making handmade books. We will learn about measuring, cutting, folding, and tearing paper, as well as dissecting holes to create folded and sewn bindings with both soft and hardcovers.

Description:
The Art of Bookmaking will introduce students to basic concepts and techniques for making handmade books. We will learn about measuring, cutting, folding, and tearing paper, as well as dissecting holes to create folded and sewn bindings with both soft and hardcovers.

During this summer camp, students will experiment with a variety of papers, materials, and the of use text and image in their handmade books. Students will explore making pamphlet, accordion, tunnel books, and more during the summer camp.

The Art of Bookmaking includes a downloadable PDF with five art projects and a custom-made supply kit with special materials for the summer camp!

Art Room Virtual Summer Camps will meet using the Google Meet application. Once registered, students will receive a link to join the summer camp.
