3D Printing Residential Summer Camp

Students will spend time getting hands-on experience with Additive Manufacturing (AM) commonly known as 3-D printing. Students will design parts, from concept to prototype, utilizing the engineering design process using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to produce functional assemblies that address real world engineering challenges.
Students will learn about the fundamentals of additive manufacturing processes while participating in demonstrations and activities that increase their awareness of the practical uses and limitations of the technology.
Participants will be joined by Japanese high school students from Saitama, Japan, Pittsburgh's sister city. They will take part in the camp experiences together as well as field trips to the Gateway Clipper, Robert Morris University's Island Sport Center and a Pittsburgh Pirate game along with other social activities taking place on RMU's campus. Please note students will be staying on campus all week and residing in the dormitories.
