Acting Classes for Kids

These acting classes for kids between the ages of 6 to 9 (6-5:30pm) and 10 to 13 (5:30-7:00pm) will run from November 10th to December 15th. No prior acting experience is required to participate. These classes will provide a look at the fundamentals of acting performance.

Student Registration Form:
- The 6:00-6:50pm class is for students ages 6-9 regardless of former acting experience.
- The 7:00-7:50pm class is for students ages 10-13 regardless of former acting experience.
- Registration for both of these classes are limited. We will notify you if you are on the waiting list.
- Both classes will run from November 10th to December 15th at South Park Theatre.
These classes will provide a look at the fundamentals of acting performance. This will include:
- Vocal Projection & Diction
- Character Development: Movement & Physicality, Motivation & Goals
- Stage Directions & Blocking
- Monologue Practice, Mock Auditions
- Scene Work - Scene Partner & Director/Actor Interaction
- Theatre Games - Creativity & Imagination & Ensemble Work
- And More!
Students will be asked to be creative & enthusiastic during class. Listening skills & collaborative group work will also be expected. Have fun as you explore what it means to perform onstage.
Cost to participate is $125 per student.
Meet the class instructor:
Amanda Rhoades is a 28 year old Director who just finished directing their seventh show here at South Park Theater. Amanda strives to create a safe and educational space for every child and young adult! A space where all may learn not only how to “perform”, but also how to improve their communication skills and enhance their confidence and team work capabilities both on and off stage - all while having fun and encouraging creativity! She believes that, art of any kind, can be incredibly beneficial to a child’s personal growth. So join SPCT’s acting classes for kids and let’s see how much your child grows!
