If you’ve thought about visiting THE ART OF THE BRICK at Carnegie Science Center, you need to act now. Time is running out to see the world’s largest LEGO art exhibition in Pittsburgh.care!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Exhibit sponsored by: Baierl Toyota, Baierl Subaru, Arch Masonry & Restoration, Citizens Bank, Isaly’s LLC, Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School (PALCS), and TribLIVE.

THE ART OF THE BRICK by artist Nathan Sawaya is only on display through Mon., Jan. 7 at Carnegie Science Center. Featuring more than 100 sculptures made exclusively from LEGO bricks, this must-see exhibition offers an experience that kids – and adults – won’t soon forget.

THE ART OF THE BRICK features LEGO brick renditions of popular masterpieces, such as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and Van Gogh’s Starry Night, as well as Sawaya’s original designs.

Here’s what Science Center visitors are saying on social media:
• “Now through the end of the year, a must-see is the LEGO art exhibit!”

• “The LEGO exhibit was incredible.”

• “The LEGO exhibit was awesome and not what I expected, having visited more typical LEGO displays/Legoland in the past.”

• “Saw The Art of the Brick last night @CarnegieSciCtr and it was pretty amazing. The Easter Island Head was over 45,000 LEGOs alone.”

• “Even if you don’t have children, @NathanSawaya LEGO exhibit The Art of the Brick @CarnegieSciCtr is a work of art. #Amazing.”

• “The Art of the Brick exhibit at Carnegie Science Center was amazing! I love LEGOs and seeing some of the art made with them was astonishing!”

• “Great exhibit. Art is anything, everything…even LEGO bricks.”

The exhibition is simply inspiring, but it wouldn’t be fair to show a LEGO exhibition with no place to build with LEGO bricks. There’s a hands-on activity zone, The Science of the Brick, a special companion exhibit built right here in Pittsburgh by Science Center staff to add an extra level of fun and learning. Build your own masterpiece or try out eight different LEGO building challenges!

THE ART OF THE BRICK is only on display through Mon., Jan. 7. Don’t miss your chance to experience this must-see exhibition.
