November 15-24: The Nutcracker, the Musical

A play peformed on our indoor Mainstage geared towards families and young children to attend. Performed by kids and for kids, the actors are between the ages of 6 to 18 and hail from the South Hills region of Pittsburgh. Tickets are $6 for kids, $10 for adults and are available for purchase here: South Park Theatre Ticket Sales. Children three years old and youger are admitted for free (should sit on an adult's lap). Performances are November 15th - 24th, 2024. Show times are Fridays at 6:00pm, Saturdays at 2:00pm & 6:00pm, and Sundays at 2:00pm. The performance will run under 2 hours with an intermission.
Show Synopsis: On Christmas Eve, the mysterious Godfather Drosselmeier presents Marie with an unusual Nutcracker. That night she is awakened by a band of renegade mice, led by the evil Mouse King. The Nutcracker, joined by a Ballerina, Feline Legation, and Mistress Clara, battle the rodents, and Marie defeats the Mouse King by hitting him with her slipper. The heroes travel to the Land of Toys to rescue Princess Pirlipat from the wicked Mouse Queen. The Nutcracker and the princess are reunited, the curse is broken, and Marie returns home with her toys to celebrate Christmas with her family. By adding splendid lyrics to Tchaikovsky’s famous score, this unique version of The Nutcracker tells the story of the ballet with all its magic and fantasy in a brand new way!
