Nutcracker at Carnegie Performing Arts Center

The Nutcracker, an old-fashioned holiday ballet performed annually by the Carnegie Performing Arts Center, will perform at the Andrew Carnegie Music Hall, 300 Beechwood Avenue in Carnegie. Performances will be on Saturday, December 9, at 7 p.m., Sunday, December 10, at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 16, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, December 17, at 2 p.m.

 The Nutcracker, an old-fashioned holiday ballet performed annually by the Carnegie Performing Arts Center, will be performed at the Andrew Carnegie Music Hall, 300 Beechwood Avenue in Carnegie. Performances will be on Saturday, December 9, at 7 p.m., Sunday, December 10, at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 16, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, December 17, at 2 p.m.

Sarah Kief, a graduate of the Carnegie Performing Arts Center and a student at Point Park University, will dance the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy.  Sydney Avant, a Senior at Trinity High School in Washington County,  will dance the Queen of the Snow, and Natalie Twigg, a Senior at Seton LaSalle, will portray the Dew Drop Fairy. Allison Platt who is in the 5th grade at Chartiers Valley Intermediate School,  portrays Clara, while Wyatt Westwood, also in the 5th grade, is from Osborne Elementary School in the Quaker Valley School District and will dance the role of the Nutcracker Prince.  Dancers from many community dance schools ranging in age from 5 to adult round out the cast of swirling snowflakes and candy flowers.   Monica Ryan, director of the Carnegie Performing Arts Center will be choreographing the production.
