This is our 25th year providing Pony Camps to beginner kids! The first Camp is August 7 through 10 with only one opening remaining. The second Camp is August 14 - 17, and a few openings are available. Camp begins each day at 10:00 AM and goes to approximately 2:00 PM. First time campers receive a FREE Horse Care Kit to use at Camp and keep afterwards (returning Campers will receive an additional item for their kits). Camp activities include: Introduction to horseback riding; learning to saddle and bridle; learning to groom; feeding and proper nutrition and care of horses; proper maintenance of a stall and stables; horse-related games and crafts; demonstrations of how to trim hooves, and the ever popular how to give a horse a bath!
No experience necessary. Ages 5 to 10 accepted. (Weight limit is approximately 75 pounds, as we mostly have ponies for kids, not full-sized horses). HELMETS ARE REQUIRED WHILE RIDING. Jeans or riding breeches and hard-soled/low-heeled shoes or boots are also required for riding. Bring a bagged lunch and filled water bottle. Water will be available at all times.
