Summer Enrichment Camp

Join us for a morning of learning and fun! Students will all take reading and math and will choose two of the three STEAM classes. Students should bring a snack and a water bottle each day. Ideal for students with Dyslexia or reading problems.

2020 SUMMER ENRICHMENT FOR STUDENTS ENTERING GRADES 1–6

The cost is $100 per 1-week session (Students may take any combination of sessions)

Join us for a morning of learning and fun! Students will all take reading and math and will choose two of the three STEAM classes. Students should bring a snack and a water bottle each day. Below is the typical daily schedule:

  • 8:00 – 8:45 Reading or Math
  • 8:45 – 9:00 Brain Break
  • 9:00 – 9:45 Reading or Math
  • 9:45 – 10:15 Snack and Recess
  • 10:15 – 11:00 Art, Music, or Robotics
  • 11:00 – 11:45 Art, Music, or Robotics
  • 11:45-12:00 Outdoor fun

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Reading: Teachers will use an Orton-Gillingham based curriculum to reinforce basic skills and focus on the National Reading Panel’s “Big 5” Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. Students will be split into groups based on ability level.

Math: Students will engage in multi-sensory learning activities to strengthen their foundational math skills. Students will again be split into groups based on ability level.

Robotics: students will participate in activities including robotics, coding, and video-game making. This year students will also get to try their hand at 3-D printing!

Music: A hands on experience with drum circles, rhythm activities, basic music theory, and fun musical games.

Art: Students will utilize a variety of mediums to create beautiful works of art.
