Teen Improv Troupe Sign-Ups for Keybank Rochester Fringe Festival

Over a period of eight, virtual, 90-minute rehearsals, the group will learn a variety of improv games, culminating in two live, virtual performances in the Keybank Rochester Fringe Festival. We are searching for performers in Grades 8 – 12 who are up for this unique challenge -- serious performers willing to work as part of a team to share their talents, refine their skills, and create a high-quality, virtual show. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

STAGES OF THE GAME VIRTUAL TEEN IMPROV TROUPE - KEYBANK ROCHESTER FRINGE FESTIVAL 2020

For Students in Grades 8 - 12

ABOUT:

Over a period of eight, virtual, 90-minute rehearsals, the group will learn a variety of improv games, culminating in two live, virtual performances in the Keybank Rochester Fringe Festival. Teens will explore the basic elements of comedy improv such as building relationships, character development, listening and agreeing, within the framework of short-form improv, in the style of the popular TV show “Whose Line is it Anyway.” Oh yeah, and they’re going to have a ton of FUN!

We are searching for performers in Grades 8 – 12 who are up for this unique challenge -- serious performers willing to work as part of a team to share their talents, refine their skills, and create a high-quality, virtual show  Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend. Please consider your commitment to the troupe and show prior to your audition. As always, each troupe member is crucial to the success of the show. The experience will be exciting, fun, and valuable.

SIGN-UP:

REHEARSALS:

The troupe will rehearse via Zoom on M/W, August 24 to September 16, from 7:00pm - 8:30pm. A dress rehearsal is scheduled for Thursday, September 17 from 7:00pm - 8:30pm. You will be called to all rehearsals. Calendar can be found here: https://www.mjtstages.com/improv-instructions

PERFORMANCES:

Both performances will be held live over Zoom:

  • September 19 @ 1:30 PM

  • September 20 @ 1:30 PM

COMMITMENT:

  • $150 Commitment Fee for comedy/improv performance training to develop your talent in a supportive, nurturing environment culminating in full performances.  Includes a t-shirt fee.  A limited amount of partial tuition assistance available.

  • Attend all rehearsals to which you are called.
