Tough @ Home Artists will share their hands-on art-making projects live with our visitors in MuseumLab’s Studio Lab. This is a drop-in style workshop, where visitors can come and go at their leisure. Workshops are $5 per participant and include MuseumLab admission.
Saturday’s Featured Artists:
Sidney Mullis Noon – 2:00 pm
Sidney Mullis is a sculptor who is building a make-believe forest to re-center playful and imaginative attitudes, largely lost in adulthood. The forest is often an environment of great adventure and transformation in children’s stories.
Lauren Braun 2:00 – 4:00 pm
Lauren is a Pittsburgh-based artist who explores themes of transformation, adaptation and meditation. She works in a variety of media including collage, drawing and painting, and explores a variety of techniques, materials, and processes.
Sunday’s Featured Artists:
Nikita Zook Noon – 2:00 pm
Nikita is a self-taught visual artist that works with vibrant colors and images to collage digitally and by hand, creating powerful, abstract pieces often accompanied by challenging or comforting text. Her work is both geometric and organic, and focuses on relatable, yet often isolating human experiences like grief, self-doubt and metamorphosis.
Brooke Barker 2:00 – 4:00 pm
Brooke is a Pittsburgh-based author and illustrator. Her New York Times bestselling book Sad Animal Facts and its sequel Sad Animal Babies are full of tragic truths about adorable animals.
