Each summer, our goal at Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media is to create outstanding art-focused camps for school-aged children (6-17). These camps are taught by talented, experienced teachers; supported by qualified, engaged assistants; and managed by an efficient, collaborative administrative team, all at our Shadyside campus.

Designed for young learners ages 9 - 12, this week-long half-day immersive program offers the chance to explore traditional crafts, learn valuable skills, and discover the fascinating world of historic trades. Throughout the camp, participants will dive into a wide variety of activities, all while learning about the tools, techniques, and hard work that shaped our world. Campers will not only enjoy learning about the history of these crafts, but they will also gain practical experience and develop skills that will serve them for years to come.

Explore the engineering marvels of sailboats and ships, covered wagons traveling the Oregon Trail, and the first electric streetcars. Your young magician will spend four days learning to make a rubber band teleport, find a chosen card with the help of a queen, and pluck a number right out of someone's mind. By Thursday they record their favorite performance to share with friends and family. Live on Zoom, small groups of 4 kids, everyday objects. No experience needed. Ages 8-12.
