Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village will also offer free admission for kids ages 17 and under throughout October. From the prehistoric Rockshelter, the oldest site of human habitation in North America, to the three recreated historic villages, kids can transport themselves back in time as they learn and play at Meadowcroft. Just an hour’s drive from Pittsburgh in Avella, Pa., Meadowcroft brings 19,000 years of history to life in a safe, outdoor environment. Pick a date, plan your visit, and don’t forget to pack a picnic!
