The National Aviary is America’s only independent, indoor, nationally designated avian zoo, with more than 500 animals made up of 150 different species from around the world, many of them Threatened or Endangered in the wild.

The National Aviary's large, free-flight habitats create an experience unlike any other – the ability to get close to beautiful birds and even a sloth! Add-on special experiences to Hand-feed Rainbow Lorikeets, or enjoy a live, immersive bird show where birds from all over the world fly overhead. Plus, get the chance to meet species like African Penguins or a Linnaeus' Two-toed Sloth up-close during Animal Encounters.
