During the summer, Allegheny County holds basketball mini camps in 10+ communities throughout the county. The mini camps are free and open to ages 9-18. Participants may attend as many mini camps as they like. All camps take place on weekdays, 10:00 am - 2:30 pm, and include a free lunch provided by the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank. Pre-registration is highly recommended to guarantee that every child receives a free box lunch. Register for each day your child will attend!

Steel City Rowing Club offers an outdoor day camp along the Allegheny River in Verona for kids ages 8-12! Campers can expect to explore the river and Sycamore Island, connect with the water via swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, and having fun on the docks and around the boathouse. Indoor activities include games, crafts, and group activities.

POV – you’re in the woods with your fellow campers, and it’s on you as a team to make it out. You will need to build fires, filter water, forage food, and build a shelter. Each “Survivor” will master campfire cooking (with basic fire safety woven in) and become fluent in Leave No Trace principles. You’ll also hike, geocache, and kayak through North Park. All of this PLUS the adventure, fun, and friendships cultivated at summer camp.
